The Global All-Compassing Edifice of Atomic Hell on Earth

Now that the construction of the global edifice of the atomic hell on earth seems a certainty, let us form a mind picture of that majestic picture that may surround the earth one day completely. Just imagine 500 twenty megaton bombs planted in extreme symmetry all over the earth. These bombs are instantaneously detonated. 500 columns, each three miles in diameter, will instantaneously be seen rising from 500 inverted cauldrons of the effective zone of explosion covering a radius of 80 miles each. The columns have risen to a height of 10 miles and there have developed mushroom top 100 miles in diameter each. They have shot through the mushroom tops upward into the stratosphere and have reached a height of 20 miles. The heads of the columns are spreading into a layer and are being carried away by the prevailing currents round the earth. The layer is spreading into a spherical roof over the earth and it has completely covered the whole of the earth like the eighth heaven. Below at the level of mushrooms the local fallout has spread over an area of 100,000 square miles around every column like an inverted cauldron larger in size than the cauldron of the effective zone but more irregular in shape due to the streaming current of air. You are in a new world now. It is a different earth and it is a different sky. But see the majesty of the edifice.The Majestic columns, the majestic vaults, the majestic ceiling. Alas for you. It is the enclosure of the atomic hell, the replica of Al-Hotama. (Surah Al-Homaza–104-Quran“”Woe to every backbiter, defamer, who amasseth wealth (of this world) and arrangeth it (against the future). He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. Nay, for verily he will be cast into Al-Hotama (atomic hell) .And what will teach thee what Al-Hotama is? It I fire of Allah enkindled which leaps up onto the hearts. It is (a fire) closed in on them in outstretched columns)

OUTSTRETCHED COLUMNS

   "Higher still and higher,

   From the earth thou springest,

   Like the cloud of fire;

   The blue deep thou wingest,

   And singing still doth soar,

   And Soaring ever singest".

            (Sheley's Ode to Skylark)

 "Hotama is a fire closed in on them in OUTSTRETCHED COLUMNS". (Quran)

Column a characteristic feature of the atomic bomb explosion.

Spectacular Column of the Shallow Underwater Burst

 The column of the atomic bomb explosion presents an awful spectacle to the eye of any on-looker. A strange inexpressible feeling of awe overwhelms the mind. Every column of the atomic bomb explosion is awfully spectacular, but particularly fascinating to the eye is the column of the shallow under-water burst. Bikini  (1946) test (Baker) was one such burst. Generally, in the shallow under-water burst the detonation takes place at the depth of about fifty feet. The first thing seen in "Baker" was a flash of light, much less luminous than for air burst; as the fire ball broke through the water surface. A column of water in the form of a hollow cylinder ( plume) with a straight stem rushed upwards. In 15 seconds it was a mile high and attained its maximum height of about a mile and half within a minute; the stem was one third of a mile in diameter, and the "Mushroom head" about a mile and a half across, the water contained in the column was of the order of a million tons. Due to the force of the explosion the water present in plume was in a state of fine drops, and the subdivision was carried further as the water column began to fall after it attained its maximum height. From the base of the column there rolled out a white ring of mist (named base surge) at a speed of about 50 miles per hour (This was an unexpected phenomenon). After about three minutes of explosion, rain began to fall from the bottom of the expanding surge, and soon the outward expanding slowed down and altogether stopped in another two minutes. The base surge probably covered the total area of more than five square miles. It carried a part of the fission products, but it is likely that the major fraction of the fission products was in the mushroom top.

This is the Age of Smoking Columns:

            Now before we bring this point that of the column rising propensities of the nuclear phenomena to an end we consider it worthwhile to add that apart from the column raising characteristics of the nuclear phenomena as distinct from the chemical phenomena, the particular feature that of column in connection with thermal processes is a particular characteristic feature of this modern age as distinct from all pre-modern ages. Praised by the revealing eye of the Quran that in an age in remote antiquity could penetrate through all these centuries to discern a very quaint character that of column raising of this modern age. It is not only the columns of the atomic explosions and the sub-atomic particles that could be observed in connection with the nuclear phenomena, or the packed columns functioning within the reprocessing plants, but generally this age could be named as an age of columns that could be seen in characteristics preponderance, of columns high and low from a few feet to several hundred feet stretching toward the sky almost everywhere in the world in the form of smoking chimneys of factories, brick kilns, cement kilns etc.  indeed in conjunction with the igneous process associated with this age. It is worth observing that this age of atomism stands in conspicuous comparison with the pre-modern ages in this particular respect of the columns of the chimnies. Mark also the high columns of the electric circuits, closed circuits which remind one of the Quran's words, "The fire closed in on them in outstretched columns". See how the Quran has characterized a far distant age.
